The first weekend in May looks like it will be mostly cloudy in Kamloops with a chance of showers on Sunday, but things are looking up next week

The first full week of May is looking good so far, with a mix of sun and cloud and temperatures around 20 C for Monday through Wednesday.

Back east, parts of Ontario are facing up to 60 mm of rain today and Friday before skies clear and temperatures warm up into the low 20s for the weekend. The nice weather will be short-lived there, however, as the Weather Network forecast calls for a return to below normal temperatures there next week.

Environment Canada says today, April 30, should be mainly sunny in Kamloops with a high of 18 C. Southwest winds at 20 km/h are expected to begin early this morning and continue into this evening, with a low of 5 C expected.

Friday should see a mix of sun and clouds with a high of 20 C and low of 8 C.

The weekend is expected to be mostly cloudy at this point, with highs of 20 C on Saturday, followed by a 70 per cent chance of showers on Sunday.

Sunday’s high is expected to be a bit cooler at 17 C.

Monday through Wednesday next week should see a mix of sun and cloud along with highs of 20 C Monday and Tuesday, 21 C on Wednesday.

That’s pretty close to normal seasonal values for Kamloops in early May, which are highs 19 C and lows of 6 C.
