More sun than rain in the Okanagan forecast

Today, tomorrow and Saturday are looking like good days to hit the beach in the Okanagan as sunny skies and temperatures as high as 31 Celsius are expected.

There’s more sunshine than rain and clouds in the Okanagan forecast over the next few days, although showers could return for the latter part of the weekend.

Today Environment Canada says to expect clearing skies this morning followed by sun and a high of 28 Celsius in Kelowna and Penticton, 27 C in Vernon.

It should drop to 14 C tonight with sunny skies and a high of 29 C for Friday, along with an overnight low of 15 C.

Saturday is expected to be mainly sunny with a high of 31 C and an overnight low of 15 C.

On Sunday, rain could return to the valley with a 40 per cent chance of showers along with a sun cloud mix, a high of 25 C and an overnight low of 13 C.

The start of the work week, Monday, should be sunny with a high of 25 C.

It’s expected to cloud over Monday night with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a low of 13 C.

Tuesday, a mix of sun and cloud also brings a 30 per cent chance of showers, with a high of 27 C and a low of 15 C expected.

It’s normally 27 C for a high and 12 C for a low in Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton this time of year.
