More daily temperature records smashed in the Interior

Daily temperature records across the Interior continue to be beat with the heat.

Osoyoos, Summerland and Penticton all saw new records July 31, with Osoyoos reaching 40 C, beating the old record of 39.6 C set in 2003, Summerland climbing to 38.7 C, beating the old 1971 record of 36.1 C and Penticton seeing 39 C, beating the old 1936 record of 37.2 C.

Cache Creek, Lillooet and Cranbrook also saw record smashers.

Cache Creek reached 40.5 C, and beat the old record of 40 C set in 1971, Lillooet saw 39 C yesterday, smashing out the old 38.8 C record set in 2003 and Cranbrook saw a new record of 37.6 C replacing the old 36.2 C set in 2014.

Daily temperature records in the Interior have been broken throughout the the long weekend.

A heat warning is currently in effect for much of the Interior but temperatures are expected to drop later this week with a slight chance of showers in the Thompson Okanagan.
