KELOWNA - The body of a 51-year-old woman who went missing from the McCulloch Lake recreation site on the weekend was found yesterday morning, Sept. 25.
She was last seen Saturday afternoon camping at the site west of Kelowna and family members reported her missing Tuesday evening.
Search and rescue teams from the Central Okanagan and Penticton started the search Tuesday evening and worked through the night on foot and with all terrain vehicles. They were joined Wednesday morning by search team members from Vernon.
With the help of Coldstream Helicopters, the woman’s body was found about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from Central Okanagan Search and Rescue.
The RCMP and B.C. Coroners Service are investigating.
The McCulloch Lake area is perhaps better known as Hydraulic Lake, southeast of Kelowna.
