Two missing Surrey children and their mother, the subject of an amber alert, were last seen in Kelowna at the end of June.

Police issued an amber alert yesterday, July 19, after Joshuah, 10, and Aurora Bolton, 8, weren't returned to their father who has primary custody. It was more than three weeks earlier they were last seen in Kelowna while on vacation with their mother Verity Bolton, 45, who had moved to Kelowna last year.

Verity was expected to return the children, July 17, and they were reported missing the next day after their father was unable to get in contact with them.

They were last seen, June 30, at Krafty's Kitchen and Bar in downtown Kelowna. They planned to camp in the area, but that booking was cancelled at some point, according to a Surrey RCMP news release.

RCMP say the children have been with their mother since June 28.

In order to meet the criteria to issue an amber alert, police must believe the children are in imminent danger. Surrey RCMP haven't explained why Joshuah and Aurora are in imminent danger, only that the missing person case meets the criteria for an amber alert.

It's not clear whether police believe they are still in the Kelowna area or still in the province.

Police are also looking for a blue 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 with a crew cab and BC license plate SJ2708.

Police say Verity Bolton and her children may be traveling in this 2012 Dodge truck.

Verity is described as a Caucasian female with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who sees the mother or children is asked to call 911 and refer to the information provided in the amber alert. If you have tips from a specific location contact your local police of jurisdiction.
