Sheldon Quewezance has always been fascinated with the idea of looking for Bigfoot.

He says that even as a young boy he knew Bigfoot had to be out somewhere in the wilderness. The Merritt resident joined the Sasquatch community in 2017.

“The topic of Sasquatch came up in a carpool with two of my best friends after pictures of large footprints showed up on Facebook by a mutual friend of ours,” Quewezance explained. “I searched with a team of investigators. We had early success with finding a lot of footprints in certain areas and hearing strange screams.”

Quewezance says he and his team witnessed something in 2018 that changed everything.

“We had a Bigfoot sighting during an investigation,” Quewezance said. “I won’t say where. People in the Bigfoot community know which area I’m talking about. The Sasquatch just stood there, staring at us. It ignited a fire inside of me that I don't think I could put out now even if I wanted to.”

Due in part to the pandemic, Quewezance’s team became very limited in the number of trips they could take out to the woods so Quewezance decided that a podcast would be the next best thing to being in the forest.

“While I still absolutely love going into the forest to search for clues, hearing other people's encounters is quickly growing to be a favourite thing to do as well,” Quewezance said. “I've met so many great people in interviews as well as many others in the Sasquatch community. Of course, there are skeptics, but that goes in any field of research and is to be expected."

Quewezance has been invited on expeditions around the county by fellow Bigfoot folks. He intends to take his podcast in a larger direction and is considering a website where people can share ideas and findings.
