McLeod takes on health role

KAMLOOPS - Our local member of parliament has been moved into a new parliamentary secretary role today, along with several other members.

Cathy McLeod, one of five members to be assigned or reassigned today, Monday, Feb. 16, is now the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health and Western Economic Diversification. Previously her role included labour and western economic diversification.

As a former registered nurse McLeod has worked in health care and sat on the standing committee on health for the federal government.

A parliamentary secretary is appointed to assist cabinet ministers with routine matters in the House of Commons and to engage in committee work.
