Man with Okanagan connections is wanted by police on sex charges

The RCMP is searching for a man with Okanagan connections on charges of sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.

Kasimir Tora Tyabji-Sandana, 32, of Powell River is the subject of outstanding warrant.

The Powell River RCMP detachment said in a release it has has contacted his family in Powell River, who say they were aware of the charges and don’t know where he is.

Police have not been able to find him at any of his previous addresses.

Tyabji-Sandana is the son of former Okanagan-East Liberal MLA Judy Tyabji, who has roots in the Okanagan. She was first elected in 1991 and was the first Indo-Canadian woman elected to the Legislative Assembly.

Anyone with any information about Tyabji-Sandana's whereabouts is asked to call the Powell River RCMP at (604) 485-6255 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
