Man taken to hospital after shot fired in Kelowna home

KELOWNA - One man was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injures after Kelowna RCMP responded to a call of a gun being fired in a basement suite last night.

Police detained four people at a home in the 700 block of Sutherland Avenue last night, Nov. 19, at about 8:30 p.m., according to an RCMP media release. There had been an altercation after two males entered the basement suite.

“The investigation remains in its early stages,” states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey of the Kelowna RCMP in the release. “The incident is believed to be targeted, therefore the public is not at risk.”

Police secured the scene and are returning today to investigate further, police said.
