Man stabbed in downtown Kamloops

A man was stabbed in downtown Kamloops in the early hours of Saturday morning.

According to a Kamloops RCMP media release, someone flagged down a police officer in the area of Victoria Street and 4 Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4.

"While officers were responding, a man nearby was confrontational with police and interfering with the investigation," Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.

"He was arrested for obstruction and lodged in cells to sober up safely."

The stabbing victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are now looking for a male suspect and a woman who allegedly left the area in a dark sedan.

Anyone who made have witnessed the incident or has any information regarding the male suspect, the woman, or the sedan is urged to contact Kamloops RCMP and reference file 2022-18634.
