PENTICTON —Osoyoos RCMP suspect two men who robbed a local business of its ATM machine Friday knew the area well.
The first man entered Spirit Ridge Resort and immediately used pepper spray on a front desk security guard. Pictures released by Osoyoos RCMP Cpl. Jason Bayda show a second man entered carrying a red dollie and went straight for the ATM machine, loaded it up and retreated out the back door.
"Violent robberies and the theft of ATM machines are not a common occurrence in this area which makes us believe the suspects targeted this ATM machine and had knowledge of the surrounding area," Bayda said in a release.
The ATM machine was later found on Mt. Baldy Road, pried open and cash removed.
RCMP are asking that anyone able to recognize the suspects or have information on the case to contact the Osoyoos RCMP at 250-495-7236 and quote File 2014-643 or to remain anonymous please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
