July 14, 2015 - 7:07 AM

KAMLOOPS - A Savona man is dead after a head-on crash near Cherry Creek on Friday afternoon.

The B.C. Coroners Service says Stewart Walter Green, 24, was the lone occupant of a westbound vehicle that crossed the centre line and collided head-on with an eastbound vehicle just east of the Cherry Creek store on Friday, July 10.

Green died at the scene and the driver of the other vehicle was transported to hospital for treatment.

The crash completely closed Highway 1 for several hours.

The coroners service and RCMP continue to investigate the incident.
