Man in hospital after stabbing in Vernon

VERNON - A man is in serious condition after he was stabbed in Vernon this morning.

RCMP say officers were called at about 11 a.m., May 15, to an apartment building in the 2900 block of 43 Avenue in Vernon, about a block away from W.L. Seaton Secondary School.

The 45-year-old victim was taken to hospital in serious condition where he remains, according to an RCMP media release.

RCMP searched the area for the suspect and called in a police service dog, but weren’t successful.

Investigators are still at the scene.

Police are asking for anyone with tips or information about the stabbing to call the Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171 or anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
