PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP would like public assistance following a jewelry theft out of Cherry Lane Mall earlier this week.

Police were called to the Michael Hill Jewelry store at the mall around 1:00 p.m. May 12, after a man asked to look at a number of items and grabbed them when they were unprotected.

He then fled out the nearest exit.

Another person was waiting outside the mall in a white Ford pickup with a license plate that did not match the vehicle.

“This is a crime of opportunity and police are asking for any help in identifying the people involved. If you know who these people are, please call the detachment or Crime Stoppers,” RCMP staff Sgt. Bob Vatamaniuck said in a press release issued today, May 15.

Police are seeking the identity of the persons shown in the above photo who they believe have some information about the offence.
