VERNON - A man has been convicted of aggravated assault in relation to a brutal attack two years ago at a Vernon bar.
Lucas Slizak, 25, was found guilty this week following a trial in Vernon Supreme Court.
The assault happened after midnight Sept. 21, 2014 at Monashee’s Bar & Grill on 30 Avenue.
At the time, police said a 23-year-old man was punched, kicked in the head, and left unconscious. He suffered a serious head injury with a fracture at the base of his skull, and a broken nose.
Slizak was arrested shortly after the incident.
He has not yet been sentenced for the crime, and next appears in court Nov. 14 to fix a date.
