Man charged with murder after body found at OKIB

The RCMP has arrested a 60-year-old man and charged him with second-degree murder in relation to a body found on 6 Mile Creek Road on the Okanagan Indian Band on Sunday, May 29.

Peter Michael Visintainer is now in custody charged with the murder of Wolf-Ingo Rudolf Beyer.

According to an earlier Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media release, police were contacted after witnesses found a body following an altercation with an individual who was driving recklessly.

The case is now being handled by the Southeast District Major Crime Unit.

RCMP say the victim drove a unique vehicle and police would like the public's help to know where it was at the time.

"Investigators are working to determine the whereabouts of the truck from approximately 5 p.m. on May 29, 2022, until approximately 10:15 a.m. on May 30, 2022," B.C. RCMP Major Crime Section Insp. Brent Novakoski said in the release. "The vehicle may have been driving erratically or below the speed limit, and this may trigger the public’s memory of the vehicle."

Police say the truck is a 2000 white two-door, one-ton, Chevrolet flat-deck pickup truck. The vehicle has large after-market silver mirrors and distinctive mud-flaps with ‘WOLF’ written on them.

"The vehicle is believed to have been in the West Kelowna, Kelowna, Armstrong, Enderby and Vernon areas," Insp. Novakoski said.

Anyone that may have seen the truck or captured it on dash cam between 5 p.m. on May 29 and 10:15 a.m. on May 30 is urged to call the SED MCU information line at 1-877-987-8477.
