Man barricaded in Salmon Arm home busted for drugs and weapons

When Salmon Arm RCMP showed up to remove a man barricaded inside a home that was supposed to be vacant earlier this month they found more than someone wanted for violating his probation order.

When they searched the suspect at the vacant home on Highway 97B at about 3 p.m., Sept. 2, they found an imitation hand gun, bear spray, a knife, a collapsible baton and suspected illegal drugs, according to an RCMP news release.

“As a result of searching the male and the residence police seized what is believed to be fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, heroin and pills,” the release states. “Locally, the quantities seized from the male would be significant.”

The 27-year-old resident of the Salmon Arm area was released pending further investigation and faces possible charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and weapons offences.
