Man arrested after TD bank robbery in downtown Kamloops

Patrol cars are stationed behind the Kami Inn as officers search for the suspect in the TD Canada Trust robbery.

KAMLOOPS – Yesterday evening, a downtown bank was robbed and about three hours later, police arrested a suspect.

The TD Canada Trust on Victoria Street was robbed at approximately 5:16 p.m., yesterday March 31. The suspect left on foot and RCMP responded with police dog services but did not locate the suspect right away.

At 8:30 p.m., officers found and arrested a 40-year-old Vancouver man in connection to the robbery.

He was apprehended without incident and will remain in police custody until his April 3 court date.

This isn't the first time a robber has targeted the downtown bank. On Feb. 17, 2017 a man robbed the same bank and was arrested three days later.
