4 alleged cartel assassins arrested in Mexican border state

CIUDAD VICTORIA, Mexico - Authorities in a Mexican border state say they have arrested four alleged cartel assassins responsible for 11 executions.

Tamaulipas state's security co-ordinating group said Friday that the men are between 18 and 22 years old and were arrested Thursday. They allegedly carried out the murders between March and May of this year in the state capital of Ciudad Victoria.

Among the victims were businesspeople and women they believed to be tied to a rival group. At least 60 people have been killed in the capital this year as rival cells of the Zetas cartel battle for control.

Authorities say the suspects are all from the capital.
