USGS says 7.8-magnitude aftershock rocks Chile a day after 8.2 quake

SANTIAGO, Chile - The U.S. Geological Service says a powerful 7.8-magnitude aftershock has rocked Chile's northern coast a day after an 8.2 quake which claimed six lives.

The USGS says the aftershock struck about 23 kilometres south of Iquique, the city closet to the epicentre of Tuesday's quake.
