Lots to see and do this weekend in South Okanagan

PENTICTON - There are no shortage of things to do in the South Okanagan this weekend.

The Penticton Farmers' Market and Penticton Community Market take place on Saturday, Aug. 26, with the Farmers' Market relocated to the 500 and 600 blocks of Main Street in order to make way for the Penticton Multisport Festival.

The two markets open at 8:30 a.m., with the Farmer’s Market closing at 1 p.m. and the Community Market at 2 p.m.

The Okanagan Falls Community Market runs Sunday, Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a kid’s bouncy castle, local musical entertainment, artisans and fresh locally produced goods. Call Dorothy at 250-488-3558 for more information.

Summerland’s Rotary Market also operates Sunday, Aug. 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Main Street in Summerland. See the Summerland Market website for more information.

Art in the Gardens is also taking place in Summerland on Sunday, Aug.27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Summerland Ornamental Gardens, 4200 Highway 97 south in Summerland.

It’s also the last week for the Leir House Sunday Arts Market on the Leir House grounds, on Sunday, Aug. 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There’s art, entertainment, vendors and more.

Sunday, Aug. 27 is the final day of the Penticton Multisport Festival, with the long distance triathlon followed by closing ceremonies, with music and celebration in Gyro Park, from 8 to 11 p.m. See the Multisport website for further details and road closure information on Sunday, Aug. 27.

The Mounties appear at Tinhorn Creek Winery’s Summer Concert series on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $45 and $20 for a shuttle ride leaving from either Penticton or Osoyoos. For more information, see the Tinhorn Creek website.

The Garagiste North Wine Festival happens at the Canadian Tire Garden Centre in Penticton on Sunday, Aug. 27 from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The small producers wine festival is a celebration of artisan winemakers producing under 2,000 case lots of wine. Cost is $49.
