August 19, 2019 - 11:05 AM

Environment Canada meteorologist Doug Lundquist says the week ahead should be a “pretty nice week in general, and pretty typical weather conditions for this time of year.”

Lundquist says unsettled conditions on Wednesday and Friday might result in some showers, depending on one’s location.

“There’s a possibility of showers around mid-week and week’s end, with temperatures hot to start, but cooling off a little at the end of the week,” he says.

In the Okanagan today, Aug. 19, you can expect sunny skies and a high of around 29 Celsius. Winds should become northwest at 20 km/h, gusting to 40 this afternoon, with a low of 12 C expected overnight.

Sunny skies in the morning tomorrow should give way to a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon, along with winds becoming northwest at 20 km/h and a high of 32 C. Tomorrow’s overnight low is expected to be 14 C.

Wednesday should see a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 30 C. The clouds continue into Wednesday night along with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a low of 13 C.

Sunny skies return Thursday as temperatures cool a bit with a high of 27 C and an overnight low of 13 C is expected.

On Friday, unsettled conditions return with a mix of sun and clouds and a 30 per cent chance of showers once again. The forecast calls for a daytime high of 26 C and an overnight low of 15 C.

The weekend is looking good with a mix of sun and cloud and a 30 per cent chance of showers on Saturday with a high of 26 C. Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 26 C.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of around 26 C and lows of approximately 11 C.
