Looking for a forever home; Kamloops SPCA pet of the week

KAMLOOPS - Dani is a young, active dog looking for an equally active home to keep her busy.

Kamloops SPCA says this dog is ready to go on lots of adventures. She is friendly, and sometimes may get over-excited. She needs to work on her basic manners.

Dani can be prone to jumping up and because of this she is not recommended for a home with young children.

She needs lots of exercise so she doesn’t get bored, and needs to work on her basic obedience. An experienced, confident guardian is important to help he be the best dog she can be.

Dani can be very sweet and affectionate, but watch out for that tail that she’s constantly wagging as it can destroy glasses or breakable things kept at tail-height.

She does not appear to be good with cats, and her exuberance may be a bit much for many dogs.

Testing and proper, slow introductions will be very important to make sure she gets along with any new dogs she meets.

This dog gets anxious when left alone. She will need to get used to spending time alone slowly a few minutes at a time and may vocalize when left.

Dani has some allergies so adopters will need to have her on a good diet that will help with her sensitivities to prevent skin irritation.

For more information about Dani contact the staff at the Kamloops SPCA. Her animal ID number is 64961.

Visit the shelter's webpage for more information such as location, adoption fees and hours of operation.
