Looking for a forever home; Kamloops SPCA pet of the week

Baxter the Anatolian Shepherd & Rhodesian Ridgeback crossbreed.

KAMLOOPS - Baxter came to the Kamloops SPCA as a stray.

He is a very outgoing and friendly dog, animal attendant Lyndsay Stewart says in a media release.

The three-year-old pup is physically strong and bursting with energy, Stewart says.

Baxter needs a guardian that can provide lots of exercise and outings. He may want to chase moving things like bikes, animals or children.

A confident guardian is important because he is still learning.

He will need slow and proper introductions to other animals as the SPCA says they have never had him around other cats or dogs.

Kids should be old enough that he cannot knock them over.

Baxter likes to be with people and may become anxious when left alone. Stewart says he will need to get used to spending time alone slowly, a few minutes at a time.

For more information about Baxter contact the staff at the Kamloops SPCA. His animal ID number is 454233.

Visit the shelter's webpage for more information such as location, adoption fees and hours of operation.
