A man in Logan Lake who won $50,000 on a scratch and win ticket plans to take his family on a tropical vacation sooner than he originally planned.

Michael Soul bought the winning ticket at Highland Valley Foods in Logan Lake, according to a B.C. Lottery Corporation media release.

“I was at home processing some photos on my computer and my first thought was, ‘(What a) total surprise,’” he said in the release.

Soul said he is feeling "happy and excited" to be a lottery winner.

Aside from using the money for a family vacation, Soul plans to share some of the prize with his wife and kids.
