West Kelowna country artist Ben Klick has released a catchy new tune.

Meet Me On The Dance Floor was released Sept. 21, and this is the second of three single releases for Klick, known as the Guitar Pickin’ Country Gentleman who fuses modern country sounds with a traditional twist, according to a press release issued by the artist.

Klick got together with Coldstream producer and songwriter Jeff Johnson, to write the fun, line-dancing and catchy tune.

The song shows Klick’s roots of his early influences of Shania Twain, Great Big Sea and Brooks & Dunn, according to the release.

In March, when he was in Nashville before COVID-19, Klick got the opportunity to go into an iconic recording studio, Sound Stage Studio, with six other musicians and two professional engineers to create the track.

After returning to the Okanagan, Klick self-produced the track in his home studio recording guitars, banjo, and vocals.

“During this time, I want to put a smile on people’s faces. Meet Me On The Dance Floor was written locally in the Okanagan and the cover art was taken at the (OK Corral Cabaret). I wanted to bring local community together around country music, and share a little more of my story with fans,” Klick said in the release.

Klick also met with local line dance choreographer, Brandi Hughes, to create a custom line dance for Meet Me On The Dance Floor.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the line dance was taught virtually though Zoom, each participant filmed themselves once they practiced in their own homes and submitted them to Klick to use in the upcoming lyric and line dance video which will be released to YouTube and on the musician's social media Sept. 28.

The song is available for digital download and streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.
