Kelowna is twice as likely to have a white Christmas compared to Penticton.
Environment Canada has compiled snowfall data from Christmas Day in major Canadian cities over the past 67 years.
A city qualifies for having a white Christmas when 2 centimetres of more is on the ground on Dec. 25 by 7 a.m.
Between 1955 and 2021, Kelowna experienced a white Christmas 64% of the time, compared to 31% in Penticton. Kamloops was also on the list, which has a 52% likelihood of having snow on Christmas.
Vernon is not on the chart.
The Canadian city with the lowest chance of having a white Christmas is Vancouver, where it only happens 9% of the time.
Kenora, Ontario is the only city outside of the territories that has had a white Christmas 100% of the time.
