Environment Canada is warning that Highway 1 could see up to 15 centimetres of snow this week.

The weather agency issued a warning, April 17, from Kootenay Pass to Rogers Pass. The snow is expected to start falling Monday afternoon to Tuesday night.

"A frontal system moving through British Columbia will give late season snow to Kootenay and Rogers Passes. Light snow will begin Monday afternoon and intensify on Tuesday morning.

"The snow will taper off for Kootenay Pass on Tuesday afternoon and late Tuesday evening for Rogers Pass. Total snowfall amounts approaching 15 cm can be expected," according to the weather statement.

Road conditions are available through DriveB.C.
