Those travelling through the high mountain passes in the Southern Interior tonight and tomorrow morning can expect to encounter snow.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement today, June 6, for the Coquihalla Highway from Kamloops through Merritt to Hope, the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna, and the Trans-Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass.
The weather office says late season snow will be hitting the passes on those highways overnight through to tomorrow morning. Flurries are expected above 1300 to 1500 metres elevation.
Most Southern Interior highway passes are forecast to get between two to five centimetres of wet snow, while the Okanagan Connector could see upwards of 10 cm.
The snow will change to rain later in the day tomorrow as temperatures begin to rise.
