THOMPSON-OKANAGAN - WestJet has announced a super-low airfare to London, England with the cheeky slogan 'If that’s not cheap enough, you can always try mailing yourself.'
Pricing for a non-stop flight from Vancouver to London’s Gatwick Airport starts at $299, one-way, with similar deals at select airports across Canada, including Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto and St. John’s, Newfoundland.
The airports down east are charging a little less down east with the St. John’s flight going for just $199.
A WestJet spokesperson says seats are selling quickly and could easily be sold out by the end of the day today, Sept. 16. He notes the introductory rates are only good through the end of the day today.
The Vancouver-London route will begin May 6, 2016, with six flights per week. Only Toronto and St. John's will be offering daily flights.
According to WestJet, it will operate 28 flights each week from the six airports. Passengers connecting from other Canadian WestJet destinations will pay just $20 for the additional flight.
The London service will use Westjet’s extended range Boeing 767-300ERW aircraft with room for 262 passengers.
A one-way flight from Vancouver to London, Ont., is currently booking for about $350 for econo travel on May 6, 2016.
