A 23-year-old Kelowna woman whose body was found in an orchard in 2017 had been shot in the head multiple times.
Kelowna resident Russia Katalina Nicholson was five months pregnant when her body was discovered in an orchard off Cooper Road on the morning of Oct. 11, 2017.
Police said it was not a random attack, but apart from that, little information has been released about the murder and police haven't said how she died.
However, a recently released B.C. Coroners report states that the 23-year-old died following multiple gunshot wounds to the head.
"Ms. Nicholson was in an orchard field when she was intentionally shot multiple times by another person or persons who then fled the scene. Ms. Nicholson died at the scene as a result of her injuries," the report reads.
No other information was given in the report.
Police have stayed quiet about the case and no one has been charged with her murder.
Kelowna RCMP Corp. Tammy Lobb said the case was still an active, ongoing investigation, and in order to protect the integrity of the investigation, the RCMP would not be releasing any further details at this time.

Nicholson was the youngest of four sisters and had been especially close with her father until his death in 2016.
Her father's death had exacerbated Nicholson's drug use.
Nicholson's sister, Naomi, had told iNFOnews.ca at the time that Nicholson had been sober since she became pregnant, five months before she was murdered.
Naomi had said that her sister was putting her life back together and excited about life again.
After months on detox waitlists, Nicholson had flown to Winnipeg to stay with her sister and got clean.
