A Kelowna video production agency has met Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds’ expectations.

Kelowna-based One Peak Creative posted a video Saturday, May 2, featuring Reynold’s Aviation brand of gin, as part of a 30-day video challenge to keep themselves busy, videographer and editor Conar Fair said.

“All of our work was postponed so as soon as that happened we were sitting here figuring out what to do in the meantime while we wait for this to blow over… We came up with this challenge as a way to be creative and have fun and challenge ourselves,” Fair said.

“Our team really likes Ryan Reynolds and we think he’s a really cool guy and we really love the ads that he does for his Aviation Gin company because they’re always witty and funny.”

The team put together an ad based on Reynolds’ failed slogans that were funny but not actually used, Fair said.

“The video is based on the slogan ‘you’ll actually die of happiness,’ so that’s how we formatted this whole video,” he said.

The ad shows a young couple running from the police after stealing that last of the Aviation Gin on earth. The woman gets shot and as she's dying, her significant other offers her a glass of gin.

Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively commented on the post.

“First off, how in the absolute gin-hell did you pull this off? Incredible work. We may have to hire you. Or kidnap you? We’re still figuring it out,” Reynolds wrote in the comment section of the Instagram video.

Lively commented saying “Couple goals. Mic drop.”

“Everybody was really excited and it was kind of this surreal feeling because we worked so hard and he actually saw it and commented. It was just a really cool funny comment,” Fair said.

One Peak Creative would love to do some work for Reynolds down the road, but for right now they’re focusing on continuing the challenge.

“We’ll see where we are at the end of it,” Fair said.

The agency also works with Jillian Harris, an interior designer and host of Love It Or List It.
