KELOWNA - The Seattle Thunderbirds defeated the Kelowna Rockets 3-2 in overtime on Wednesday night at Prospera Place.
Lane Pederson scored the winning goal three minutes into overtime to give Seattle the win, after Kelowna had battled back from two one-goal deficits.
The loss dropped the Rockets record to 51-13-5-1 on the season.
Rourke Chartier has his team-leading 48th goal of the season while rookie Dillon Dube scored his 17th of the season, the game-tying goal midway through the third period.
The Rockets outshot the Thunderbirds 27 -24 in the game. Jackson Whistle suffered the loss in net.
The Rockets have just two games remaining in the WHL regular season and will finish it off with a home and home series with the Vancouver Giants.
Kelowna will meet the Giants in Vancouver on Friday before closing the regular season Saturday night at home to Vancouver.
The Rockets open the WHL playoffs at home March 27 and 28.
