Kelowna RCMP searching for restaurant break and enter suspect

FILE PHOTO

KELOWNA — RCMP are searching for a suspect after receiving a report of a break and enter at a downtown Kelowna pub earlier today.

Officers received a report of a commercial business alarm going off early this morning, April 11, at 4:19 a.m at Tonics Pub and Grill. Early investigation findings suggest the suspect may have gained access into the restaurant through the roof’s ventilation system, according to an RCMP media release.

When police attended they discovered the rear door of the building had been damaged. Police reviewed the restaurant’s video surveillance which showed the suspect took steps to obstruct the lens of the camera with a substance.

No one was found inside but the cash register and several doors were damaged.

The suspect was wearing a hoodie, a red hat, a head lamp, a pair of gloves and a pair of dark coloured pants.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
