Kelowna RCMP releases photos of potential witnesses: call to help ongoing murder investigation

KELOWNA - Kelowna RCMP calls on the public to identify those seen in these photos pulled from surveillance footage in March.

The Serious Crime Unit has been investigating the death of Alexander Hegedus and are looking to identify and speak with the potential witnesses pictured here.

A collection of photographs, taken from video surveillance cameras installed in the area of Houghton Court, Houghton Road and Kneller Road in Kelowna’s Rutland. The eight photographs in total show pedestrians, persons walking their dogs, individuals pushing strollers and pulling carts, as well as bicyclists. The photograph also shows a map of the above mentioned intersection.

"Each of the individuals seen in the photographs are believed to be potential witnesses," Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey says. "We believe there is a possibility that at least one of those members of the public, may hold a key piece of information, which may aid our investigators.” O’Donaghey adds, “no detail is too small.”

The video was recorded on March 22nd, 2018 between 10 am and 11 am in the area of Houghton Court and Kneller Road in Kelowna.

The Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit is also looking to speak with anyone who missed a scheduled appointment, or personal meeting with Mr. Hegedus on Thursday March 22nd, 2018 or the days following his death.
