KELOWNA - A Kelowna man will be taking life a little easier now as he ponders plans for the future after winning a $1 million Lotto 6/49 prize.

Nick Pisio has been playing the lottery every Wednesday for the last three years and couldn’t believe his luck when he checked his ticket purchased at the Mac’s convenience store on Springfield Road for the Nov. 7 draw, according to a B.C. Lottery Corporation media release.

“I had the staff scan the ticket - I couldn’t believe it. Everyone was shocked,” Pisio said in the release.

Pisio said the win takes the pressure off and will allow him to spend more time with his family. He says travel is in his and his wife’s future plans with a trip to Maui planned for next spring.

He says he’s still coming to terms with the win.

“We enjoy spending our free time with our grandchildren. Now with an earlier retirement in the future, we can do that even more. We have no more worries,” he said.
