Kelowna man arrested for assault in parking lot scuffle

A Kelowna man was arrested by RCMP officers earlier this week after allegedly brandishing a knife and assaulting another man.

On Tuesday, Aug. 4 at roughly 6 p.m., RCMP responded to a report that a man with a knife was acting aggressively in the parking lot of a business in the 2200 block of Baron Road in Kelowna, according to an RCMP news release.

The man had approached another man and allegedly assaulted him, but the knife was not used so the victim did not sustain serious injuries as a result, Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy said.

The 29-year-old Kelowna man was arrested without incident and has been released on strict conditions for a future court date. The incident will be submitted to the B.C. Prosecution Service for review and the RCMP investigation is ongoing.
