Kelowna homicide suspect apprehended by police

A 54-year-old Kelowna woman who was arrested then released following a homicide on Monday has been picked up again by Kelowna RCMP.

Police were called to a home in the 600 block of Bechard Road in Kelowna just before 7 a.m., Oct. 18, where they found a man who was dead.

His death has now been ruled a homicide, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Oct. 21. RCMP have not released the man's identity.

The woman was released after the initial arrest but was apprehended again under the Mental Health Act.

“This was an isolated incident and the RCMP are not seeking any additional suspects,” Kelowna RCMP Supt. Kara Triance said in the release.

“Neither the victim nor suspect were known to police prior to this incident.”

The B.C. Prosecution Service will determine if charges will be laid in the case, RCMP said.
