Kelowna RCMP say man's death is suspicious

FILE PHOTO

The body of a man was found this morning at a home in Kelowna and RCMP call the death suspicious.

Officers were called to the home in the 600 block of Bechard Road off Lakeshore Road in Kelowna at around 7 a.m. today, Oct. 18, where they found the body of man, according to an RCMP media release.

Police arrested a woman at the scene and she is in custody but no charges have been laid.

The area around the home has been cordoned off as investigators collect evidence and interview witnesses. Both the RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service are involved in the investigation.

RCMP are releasing few details about the man’s death.

“At this time, we are not releasing the name of the deceased,” Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Const. Solana Paré said in the release.

“While the investigation is in its early stages, we believe that this incident is isolated in nature and the victim and the suspect were known to one another.”

Kelowna RCMP is urging anyone who witnessed or has knowledge of this incident to come forward and speak with police immediately at 250-762-3300.
