KELOWNA - Ignorance of the law is the defence a man accused of stealing golf balls from a driving range is offering.

Kelowna RCMP say a man contacted police after media reports were published yesterday, Aug. 13, showing two men leaving the Golf Centre on Benvoulin Road with three buckets of rented golf balls.

The man told police he took the golf balls but didn’t know he was committing a crime, media officer Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey said in a press release.

Police say the man has agreed to work with the Golf Centre to resolve the situation.
