FILE PHOTO

KELOWNA - Flames and smoke were pouring from a Barnaby Road home early this morning when Kelowna firefighters arrived.

Crews found heavy flames and smoke from the rear of the residence at about 3 a.m. today, July 23, and were able to douse the fire and limit its damage to the garage, according to a news release from Kelowna Fire Department.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

While it’s not considered suspicious, it will be investigated, Platoon Capt. Dennis Miller said in the release.
