A wildfire had to be put out in Kelowna this morning.
It was reported shortly after 3 a.m. near Verde Vista Road, according to a release from the Kelowna Fire Department.
The first officer to arrive reported the wildfire was approximately 75’ by 150’.
Responding to the fire were two engines, two bush trucks and a command unit with 11 personnel.
Crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire quickly.
The cause was deemed an accident and the site will be revisited again this morning.
The public is reminded that campfires are not permitted within the city, and to be aware that conditions are dry for this time of year.
