If you are a person with disabilities who has an outdoor adventure dream you’ve never been able to achieve then Render Digital Media wants to hear from you.

The Kelowna-based company is planning a TV series where they will help you live that dream through “adaptive mobility.”

"We've got a guy who is a machinist by trade and he makes the coolest things," Render producer Pamela Tomlinson told iNFOnews.ca.

The show will go to the next level by modifying equipment rather than using the standard disabled sailing or skiing equipment. She gave the example from a few years ago when the company added a ski to a Trail Rider so someone could go up on a glacier.

She would not name the network that will air the series or what the show will be called, leaving that to the network to announce. She did say the show will be funded by the network and the Canadian Media Fund.

“The hosts of the show know themselves what it’s like to have their entire life change in an instant, as they themselves have experienced it,” states a news release about the casting call. “They will be the ones guiding participants through the sharing of their own story, and then embarking with them on the planning and execution of a truly unique adventure."

The team will use their “machinist background” to adapt equipment to allow the participants achieve their goals.

“Thoughtfully and strategically planned adventures will inspire the participant, challenge them, restore their sense of freedom, and remind them of who they are and all they can be,” the release states.

They are looking “for dynamic and engaging participants who have a disability of some sort, regardless of what that may be, along with a desire to serve as a catalyst for positive change on a large scale.”

Applications can be made by email only.

Send your name, or recommend someone, to renderdigitalcasting@gmail.com. Include age, details on the person’s circumstances, what the ultimate wilderness experience would be, why do it, what the participant hopes to take away from it all and a photo.

The deadline for applying is Jan. 15 with plans to start filming in June or July, Tomlinson said. The first season may be limited to Western Canada but it's expected to go nationwide.

Render Digital Media’s website says it creates “authentic, original television programming for a variety of networks. Our team is passionate about character driven live-action documentaries and reality series.”

Its productions include: The Last Mile, The Achievables, The Carnies, The Canadian Culinary Championships, CASStruction and Through the Northern Lens.

Clients include AMI-tv, Bell Media, Astral Radio and Television, TELUS, B.C. Association of Broadcasters, Gold Metal Plates, and The Mark Anthony Group.
