KELOWNA - A Kelowna man, possibly impaired, crashed his truck into a power pole in the city yesterday afternoon.
After the crash, the 23-year-old driver refused to provide a breath sample to police, Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a media release. He was issued a driving prohibition and faces potential charges.
Crews responded to a single vehicle collision on Springfield Road near Graham Road yesterday, Dec. 1, at 12:55 p.m.
Witness reports say the grey Chevrolet Silverado truck, travelling westbound on Springfield Road was moving erratically before the crash. The truck veered across the centre line before it hit the power pole head-on.
When emergency crews arrived, the driver displayed signs of alcohol intoxication, O'Donaghey says. He was taken into custody and refused to provide a breath sample to police.
He was released from custody pending a future court appearance.
