KELOWNA – While searching for a suspect in Rutland, Kelowna RCMP found a stash of stolen tires reported missing last week.

Shortly before 8:30 a.m. Jan. 12, RCMP received a report of a commercial break and enter and theft at a car dealership on Enterprise Way where thousands of dollars worth of tires were taken.

Two days later, according to a media release from Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey, RCMP were on Hollydell Road looking for a man wanted “on an unrelated matter.”

While searching a garage, an RCMP officer found numerous sets of automobile tires they've since linked to the commercial break and enter.

“Police have since seized the nearly 30 stolen tires, which were then returned to the affected dealership, where employees continue to assess whether or not any tires remain outstanding," he says.

No arrests have been made in connection to the break and enter.
