Kelowna Chiefs open road trip with win

SPOKANE, Wash. - Austin Fisher scored the game-winning goal in the Kelowna Chiefs victory over Spokane on Friday night.

The Chiefs defeated the Braves 4–3 in game one of a three game road weekend.

Captain Jordan Salahor started things off for the Chiefs, scoring his first goal since returning from injury in the first period.

Nick Headrick added the Chiefs second goal of the night during the first 20 minutes of play to tie up the game 2 – 2.

In the second period, Tanner Stolz with the Braves scored on the power play but the lead didn’t last long as Salahor added his second of the game.  A power play goal as well.

And during the final 20 minutes of play, Austin Fisher scored with assists from Adam Beatty and Cole De Jonge to win the game 4 – 3.

Also adding assists on the night was Kelowna Chiefs leading scorer Nick Josephs (2A), Kevin Roth (2A) and Jagger Bowles.

Tyler O’Donnell earned his 10th victory between the pipes, facing 36 shots on goal.

The weekend is far from over for the Kelowna Chiefs as they continue their road trip to Nelson to face the KIJHL’s first place Leafs on Saturday night.
