Canadian Mental Health Fundraiser!!: Ride Don’t Hide – Ending the Stigma Around Mental Illness – Volunteers who have a good work ethic, integrity, and the ability to work independently or with others are wanted for the Ride Don’t Hide event, held on Sunday, June 25th. People from the community that see the value of speaking up around mental illness and help break the stigma while raising important dollars for community education programing at the CMHA Clubhouse are wanted. The Kamloops Arts Council seeking volunteers for ART IN THE PARK ON CANADA DAY ON JULY 1ST. We need volunteers for Set Up, Traffic Control, Fundraisers, Greeters + so much more!! Volunteers will be setting up tables, chairs, greeting people, there are many fun roles to fill at Riverside Park. Please contact Jenn – 250-372-7323

The Kamloops Arts Council is seeking friendly and outgoing people who are not afraid to strike up a conversation! You will be selling raffle tickets + Event Ambassador for the KAC. Join us, starting July 1st at Art in the Park on Canada Day. Sales take place Wednesday mornings and Saturdays. Previous raffle ticket sales an asset but not required. You will be selling at various events, grocery stores in Kamloops area July 1st – Sep 16th. Please call Jenn at 250-372-7323

EUReKA SCIENCE PROGRAM NEEDS VOLUNTEERS FOR JULY 4TH-AUGUST 25TH. The volunteer instructor is responsible for classroom support for the EUReKA SCIENCE PROGRAM summer camps. They help the instructors in the classroom and work directly with children, ages 7-13. Volunteers must be enthusiastic about learning science, should have some experience working with youth or at least be very interested in working with children and take direction well. The Salvation Army is seeking volunteers for HUNGER HEROES FUNDRAISING CONCERT ON JULY 15TH. We need a Mobile Kitchen Helper to assist in serving food (by donation) to guests of our fundraising concert. Volunteer will be kitchen-oriented, Food Safe preferred but not necessary. RIBFEST, ROTARY CLUB OF KAMLOOPS DAYBREAK IS SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR AUG 11TH – AUG 13TH
Volunteers are needed in Beer Gardens, Family Fun Zone, Table Clearing, Rib Running, and Corn. All welcome, preferences for those with Serving it Right and Food Safe. Please contact Ellice at 250-828-3822

Boat Loader / Registration - Kamloops Dragon Boat Festival is seeking 35 volunteers to hold boats while paddlers get in them, help with registration, posting results. The festival will take place in Riverside Park on Saturday August 12th, 2017 and there will be two shifts for the volunteers:  07:30 am - 12:30 pm & 12:00 pm & 05:00 pm. Training will be provided through online webinars, handbook and phone support.

Current Volunteer Positions:

Salvation Army: is seeking for Emergency Disaster Services Helpers. This is on-going volunteer positions that requires volunteers to be ready as it is on-call as needed. Volunteer will provide food, hydration, and/or spiritual/emotional care to victims of disaster. Duties include driving, cooking, serving, making phone calls, stocking canteens and warehouse, cleaning and detailing equipment. Training will be provided, in order to stay qualified volunteers must participate in at least 2 exercises/real world events annually. Volunteers must be older than 19 years old. Kamloops Heritage Railway: is seeking a Mascot and Popcorn making volunteers as well as On-Board attendants for our upcoming summer season programs. Volunteers should have good social skills and enjoy working with people of all ages. Please call Rosanne 250-374-2141.

Kamloops Hospice Association seeking Volunteer Gardeners: If you have a few hours a week to give, we would love to have you join our garden volunteers at Hospice. If you have time to deadhead and weed we would love to hear from you. Volunteers should be in good physical health. . Need to supply your own gloves, all other tools provided. Canadian Cancer Society: CIBC Run for the Cure:  Run Director Needed. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to lead our CIBC Run for the Cure committee. Experience with Project Management, leadership, and event management. Please Call. 1-1800-663-7317.

MS Society of Canada : Friendly Visitor Program: volunteers needed for Friendly Visitor. Visiting individuals with MS who are living in community care facilities in the Kamloops area.
