KAMLOOPS - The mercury soared beyond the 30 Celsius mark Monday, high enough to set a new high temperature record in the city.
Environment Canada is reporting a high temperature of 30.9 C for yesterday, May 2, just surpassing the 1937 record of 30 C recorded by the weather office in 1937.
More heat is expected today, with a high of 28 C forecast, before temperatures cool off slightly under cloud cover Wednesday and Thursday.
Temperatures are expected to hit the 30s again for the weekend.
