Kamloops THRiVE Festival Announces Local Chef's for Inaugural Iron Chef Competition

Kamloops THRiVE Festival is proud to announce the local participants in the first ever Kamloops THRiVE Iron Chef Competition. ? As part of the Festival's THRiVE Expo, similar to the popular TV show, watch the battles unfold live as professional chef's from throughout the region go head-to-head cooking culinary delights using mystery ingredients local to this region. Organized by THRiVE Artistic Director Alan Corbishley, and past Iron Chef winners (Armstrong) City Councillor Donovan Cavers, and Preston's Restaurant Head Chef Romeo Oloresisimo, this inaugural event to the City of Kamloops showcases top culinary talent from the region.
We are proud to announce the following participants as part of this exciting event:

-  Ariana's Café (Kamloops)
-  Delta Sun Peaks (Sun Peaks)
-  Noble Pig Brewhouse (Kamloops)
-  Sanbiki (Kamloops)
-  Table 24 (Salmon Arm)
-  Terra (Kamloops)

City Councillor Cavers, who also runs the local catering company Conscientious Catering is a perfect addition to the organizing team, helping create a specific '100 Mile Diet' ingredient list for our participating chefs. By adhering to these principles, not only will THRiVE promote healthy living, but in addition aims to strengthen the local farming community and economy; a practice Cavers models his business after.

"THRiVE Iron Chef will help bring prestige to the culinary industry in our community
and will inspire anyone looking to elevate their culinary abilities to the next level.” With the Festival's overall purpose of creative community building, we are offering an array of culinary experiences to choose from. The festival will be featuring workshops taught by the TRU Culinary Arts Program lead instructors; a market place offering some locally made, take-home tasty treats; hands-on demos and workshops lead by BC nutritionist, Adam Hart and so much more.

Other local businesses have jumped on board as proud sponsors of this competition: Blackwell Dairy, Coopers Foods, Golden Ears Farm, Kamloops Farmers Market, Kam Lake View Meats, Laughing Swan Farm, River Fresh, Summit Gourmet Meats, and Western Restaurant Supply.
