Kamloops staffer steps up as acting CAO

The City of Kamloops’ top staff member, Dave Trawin, has been temporarily replaced while the longtime city CAO deals with health issues.

Byron McCorkell, Kamloops’ community and protective services director, is acting chief administrative officer and has assumed those duties until Trawin returns.

McCorkell says there’s no certainty as to when Trawin will return to his position. In the meantime, Barbara Berger, the City's recreation, social development and culture manager will cover some of McCorkell's usual duties.

Last Tuesday, June 16, Trawin experienced a "medical emergency" during a regular city council meeting. He got first aid before he was taken to Royal Inland Hospital in stable condition. His current condition is unknown and the City of Kamloops has said it won't reveal any further information.
